TDG is a DNA glycosylase that removes T from the TG mismatch in DNA. Such mismatch can derive from deamination of methylated C in DNA. TDG is a mono functional glycosylase that leaves an intact AP site in DNA following its glycosylase action. In addition to T, U or ethenoC opposite G is also recognized by TDG
